L-leucine, also known as L-leucine and L-2-amino-4-methylpentanoic acid, is one of the essential amino acids for animals. Together with isoleucine and valine, it constitutes a branched-chain amino acid (BCAA). Leucine is the most powerful among the three branched-chain amino acids in promoting muscle protein synthesis. It plays an important role in key physiological processes such as energy metabolism balance, growth and development regulation, intestinal health, and immune homeostasis in livestock and poultry. Suitable for pigs, poultry, ruminants and aquatic feed, especially suitable for low-protein dietary formulations and the muscle deposition needs of fast-growing animals.

Product Applications

Activate Synthesis

Leucine is a key activator of the mTOR signaling pathway that drives protein synthesis in livestock and poultry. It increases the rate of muscle protein synthesis by activating the mTOR pathway and inhibits protein degradation in body tissues other than skeletal muscle. It is the amino acid with the strongest anabolic activity among BCAAs.

Promote Growth

Adding an appropriate amount of leucine to low-protein diets can significantly increase the daily weight gain and feed intake of piglets, improve the weight gain and feed conversion rate of broiler chickens, increase the carcass rate, breast muscle rate and leg muscle rate, improve lean meat deposition, increase feed protein utilization, and promote rapid weight gain of piglets, broilers, and beef cattle.

Nitrogen Reduction and Emission Reduction

Supplementing leucine in low crude protein diets can significantly increase the nitrogen deposition rate, reduce nitrogen excretion, balance the amino acid composition of low protein feeds, improve the body's nitrogen utilization efficiency, reduce fecal nitrogen emissions, and support environmentally friendly breeding.

Immune Support

Leucine mediates the regulation of immune system function through the mTOR signaling pathway. Adding an appropriate amount of leucine to low-protein diets can significantly increase the mass concentration of plasma immunoglobulin A (IgA) and immunoglobulin M (IgM) in weaned piglets, enhance immunity, and at the same time regulate the expression of genes related to intestinal pattern recognition receptors and promote healthy intestinal development.
