Ectoine, also known as tetrahydromethylpyrimidinecarboxylic acid, is a cyclic amino acid derivative produced through a biological fermentation process. Its molecules have a highly polar structure. It has been included in the "Catalogue of Used Cosmetic Raw Materials (2021 Edition)", with an applicable pH range of 4.0-8.0 and good water solubility.
