Compared with the previous year, around 100 energy and basic-chemical-material enterprises left the Top 500, while around 100 new enterprises in chemical materials, specialty chemicals and efficient, long-lasting pesticides entered the list. This reflects clear progress in capacity reduction and structural adjustment during the 13th Five-Year Plan. Twenty-six petroleum and chemical enterprises entered the Fortune Global 500, unchanged from the previous year.

Hongda has long attached great importance to R&D innovation. It has established R&D centers in Shandong, Shanghai and Beijing and built industry-university-research partnerships with Jiangnan University, Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology, Zhejiang University of Technology and Fudan University. Its biotechnology development and circular-economy value-chain extension have reached an internationally advanced level, and its core-technology R&D has moved from following to running alongside and then leading the field.

This Top 500 recognition is strong acknowledgment from the petroleum and chemical industry of Hongda’s comprehensive strength. We will use it as an opportunity to transform our development model, adjust our structure, increase innovation investment and drive sustained business growth through continuous innovation and independent high-technology R&D, injecting new momentum into China’s chemical industry.
